Yes, a firearm is the same tool as any other. Just as you clean or change the oil in your car, so should you carry out the process of caring for your firearm. Leaving a weapon in a neglected state can cause it to become dysfunctional and also pose a threat to your life or health.
Cheap preparations can damage your weapon. The manufacturer does not take responsibility for the use of preparations not intended. It is not worth risking damage to an expensive or antique weapon for the sake of saving a few zlotys on cleaning.
There are many variables. It depends on how much you shoot, what type of weapon, how often and under what conditions. Ideally, you should clean your gun after every shooting. At least once a month to keep the weapon in working order.

Every weapon should be cleaned, maintained and lubricated. There are models that are more resistant to dirt, such as Glock, but they too will refuse to serve at some point. Failure to clean the weapon causes severe wear and tear on friction parts.
Try to use preparations of one brand. You do not know the full composition of the product (only legally required ingredients are listed on the back) because it is a company secret. There is a risk that the preparations will interact with each other in unexpected ways, causing damage to the weapon.

A product that wears off quickly is Gun Cleaner. Such is its role to remove dirt with high pressure. A can of 500 ml is enough for 5-10 cleanings. However, all the rest will last you for a very long time – for example, Ceramic Grease quietly for a year.
Teflon Grease is used to lubricate semi and full auto rifles and shotguns. CLP oil is designed for lubrication of small arms, doubles and bolt action rifles.
Teflon Grease is used to lubricate moving parts ensuring smooth operation of the weapon. Ceramic Grease, on the other hand, is used to protect the compensator and barrel threads from seizing by creating a “wall” between them. These two lubricants have completely different effects.
First of all, Teflon penetrates the metal regenerating it and forming a protective coating. We can wipe the weapon dry from the outside and it will continue to be protected against corrosion. Traditional oil leaves a greasy film that can stain your shirt, pants or gun carrying case. The greasy film makes it easy for sand or dust to stick-with Teflon, this risk disappears. Teflon is anti-allergenic so you can carry your weapon next to your bare body without the risk of allergies. Teflon is also hydrophobic so when it rains or snows, water won’t stick to your weapon.
The base of each large set is the same- for cleaning the barrel Bore Foam, for cleaning the rest of the Gun Cleaner, for maintenance Care Spray and for removing sand, dust or excess preparations Compressed Air. The difference is in lubrication-CLP for small arms, doubles, bolt action rifles and Teflon Grease for rifles, semi and full auto rifles and Shotguns.
